The mission of AMTA is to provide a forum for professional exchange, to actively support the growth of our profession, and to enhance public awareness of massage therapy. AMTA serves licensed massage therapists in the entire United States.

The American Massage Therapy Association - Washington Chapter (AMTA-WA) is a Local chapter of AMTA serving massage therapists licensed in the state of Washington. Our headquarters are in Kirkland, WA. We work in conjunction with AMTA National to serve members in the State of Washington on a local level.
Which organization should I join - AMTA (National) or AMTA-WA (Washington)?
All licensed massage professionals will join the National organization (AMTA) by paying all dues to "National". When you join National you'll be asked which state that you're licensed in, and you'll select Washington.
How do I join AMTA-WA in Washington?
When you join AMTA National and concurrently select the state of Washington during registration, you'll then automatically become a member of AMTA-WA Washington.
Do I pay separate dues to AMTA-WA in Washington or only AMTA National?
All dues are paid to AMTA National. You do not pay separate dues to AMTA-WA Washington. Washington dues are collected by National.
When I joined AMTA National I setup an account on their website. Does this account work on the AMTA-WA Washington website?
You will need to have a separate member account on our AMTA-WA, Washington Chapter website.
